Social Media Challenges
In January 2010, FINRA released guidelines for financial advisors who use social networking sites and blogs.
But meeting FINRA’s guidance is challenging, because social media isn’t just one channel or a single website. Social media has grown into a complex mix of media, websites and communication channels. Social media can be categorized into three buckets: advertising (one-to-all communications), social (one-to-many communications) and correspondence (one-to-one communications).
While there are a few solutions that may address a single channel (e.g., Twitter Tweets), there has not been a comprehensive solution that broadly addresses the myriad of social networking sites…until now.
